Yesterday’s rain was a welcome surprise that dragged on till evening, sending an evening breeze that somehow kept me awake until 4 a.m. It wasn’t really chilly but the cool air was enough to keep me chatting with friends and cousins abroad.

Today, I noticed the mist just above the trees around where we live. At about 3 p.m., it’s still there and last night’s rain did not stop at all. There were no reports of storm in the metropolis, though.

A time like this makes me want to play anything from Dungeons & Dragons or read anything about vampires and werewolves. Kind of weird, yeah, but I guess it’s in the air. The Halloween’s just a stretch away. Won’t it be so nice to scare someone out of his wits?

Meet Sir STE4LTH. And guess what? I just did that. I registered on this free online game where I was named Sir STE4LTH (well, I chose the name) and then I was knighted by the king, that’s what it says, as I knew no one who holds an account there. I was navigating the tabs when I reached the Tavern. It is where assignments or missions are given out so you can earn some golds or jewels and it comes with a time limit for you to finish the mission. I had 8 hours to complete mine.

When I chose an assignment (from a list) I was sent to another page to sign up either as a vampire or a werewolf. I picked the vampire clan. Another round of signing up, where I named myself Zidra 1, then off to the mission I went.

Since I have 8 hours to kill, starting now, I can’t tell you yet what the outcome will be. But I hope I could bite you.

And, hey, before I forget, scan your channels for some scary movies or see that Japanese movie Retribution (Sakebi), by independent filmmaker Kiyoshi Kurosawa, for a change.

Go, scare yourself a little. Booo!

Did I tell you that you’ll see Zidra 1 when you get bitten?
